Voices of Peace Fill Merkin Hall

On a chilly January evening in New York, the warm lights of Merkin Hall promised more than just shelter. They beckoned to a night of musical tribute to peace and justice by the Every Voice Choirs. The Peace Seekers XI concert, held on January 20th, 2024, was a heartfelt ode to Martin Luther King Jr.'s enduring legacy, seen through the lens of diverse choirs from our community.

Featuring ensembles like the EVC Kids, Youth, Concert, and VoiceAbility Choirs, the evening was a tapestry of voices young and old, each song a step on the path toward a more peaceful world. As a photographer, capturing the unity and emotion of this event was both a challenge and a privilege. Each frame aimed to embody the concert's spirit—a quest for harmony in every note and every silent moment of reflection.

The concert was supported by organizations committed to fostering arts and culture in New York, highlighting the collective effort behind this annual celebration of peace. From behind my camera, the concert unfolded as a vivid narrative of hope, resilience, and the transformative power of music.

For those who were there, I hope my photographs bring back the warmth and inspiration of that evening. And for those who missed it, may these images offer a glimpse into the magic of the Peace Seekers concert—a reminder of the beauty that happens when we come together to sing for a cause greater than ourselves."
