Carnegie Hall Chronicles: "Windsongs" - A Symphony of Voices and Strings from Santiago High School's Choirs and East Brunswick High School Orchestra
As a photographer who frequently captures the magic of Carnegie Hall, I am constantly delighted by the exceptional talent that graces its stage. Last evening, I had the pleasure of documenting the captivating performances of Santiago High School's choirs from California and the East Brunswick High School Orchestra from New Jersey, who came together to participate in DCINY's "Windsong" series.
All of the Santiago High School choirs were directed by Karen Garrett and accompanied by Alexis Ohmar. The evening began with the Santiago High School's Treble Ensemble, a group of 33 young women who captivated the audience with their harmonious renditions of pieces from a diverse range of composers. Their voices resonated throughout the hall, setting the stage for a remarkable night of music.
The Santiago High School Combined Women's Choir and the Santiago High School Madrigals ensemble followed, offering their own impressive performances, further highlighting the depth of talent within the school's music department. The singers seamlessly transitioned between various styles and genres, keeping the audience engaged and immersed in the musical journey.
Not to be outdone, the East Brunswick High School Orchestra brought their own flair and musicianship to the stage. Under the direction of Arvin Gopal, they delivered a wonderful performance, showcasing their skill and proficiency with their instruments. The combination of Santiago High School's choirs and the East Brunswick High School Orchestra resulted in an evening that showcased the dedication and passion of these young musicians.
It's always a privilege to witness such talent, and I look forward to sharing more stories from my upcoming experiences at Carnegie Hall in future blog posts.
