Automating Social Media for Photographers
Social media can be annoying to manage. There are some great paid programs out there to help you manage them such as Hootsuite, but there are free ways to make social media a little more bearable as well.
As a photographer I spend the most time on Instagram. With this in mind I’ve made Instagram the “trigger” platform, meaning I manually post there and my automation will magically send it everywhere else without me even thinking about. Now, instagram does have a built-in share function, however if you use Twitter I’m sure you’ve noticed that all you get there is an ugly text post with a link. This automation will automatically tweet images, and it’s very easy to set up, anybody can do this in about 5 minutes.
You can spend time setting this up yourself, but luckily pretty much any social media sharing you want to do is already set up for you by Zapier. You can find them by clicking the links below:
If the integration you’re looking for isn’t there you can set up your own Zap to do just about whatever you want. Just click the big orange button up top that says “Make a Zap” and follow the prompts.
Of course, this isn’t limited to social media. I have a Zap that integrates Google Calendar and Freshbooks, this creates a new draft invoice every time a new event is added to the google calendar for my photography business. Zapier is fairly simple to set up, just search for the apps or programs you would like to connect and follow the prompts. My goal right now is to use Twitter more so if you need help setting anything up or just want to share ideas that you came up with tweet me at @DWphotoNY or contact me at any of the following places: Instagram: @DWphotoNY Facebook: @DWphotoNY
